How would you describe the vibrant light that you project to others from your heart and soul?
You can detect the people that love other people and posses this unique light. They have an irresistible glow about them.
When Jerusalem was destroyed, Isaiah told them:
“Jerusalem, get up and shine, because your light has come, and the glory of the Lord shines on you. Darkness now covers the earth; deep darkness covers her people. But the Lord shines on you, and people see his glory around you.” (Isaiah 60:1-2 NCV)
If you stop and think about it, light always projects. It rises and ascends.
When Jesus was ascending to heaven and “While they watched, Jesus’ appearance was changed; his face became bright like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.” (Matthew 17:2 NCV)
The book of Revelation states: “The city (the new Jeruselum) does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God is its light, and the Lamb is the city’s lamp.” (Revelation 21:23 NCV)
God - Christ - You - Me - we are the light for others. How bright is your light?
The truth is that many people are having a hard time in some area of their life. The question is do we see and notice the darkness that others experience?
It’s all very hard to believe, yet God really does put a light in us. So what does this light thing mean?
Jesus described it when he said:
“You are the light that gives light to the world. A city that is built on a hill cannot be hidden. And people don’t hide a light under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand so the light shines for all the people in the house.” (Matthew 5:14, 15 NCV)
And then he describes what being light actually is when He said:
“In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 NCV)
So how does this practically play out? I think the key to the darkeness of others is to actually see and feel the pain causing them to sink. And then - let them experience your light.
As Christ said, just do good things for those in pain and in need. Give encouragement. Even give them physical help, or money. Call them and pray with them. Let them know you are thinking of them, and let them know that you love them. Simply ask how they are doing? Share your light.
Sharing your light is one of the easiest things to do. It not only helps others, it increases your own brightness. Shared Light begets more light.
Lord, Proverbs 6:23 says that “Truth is a bright beam of light shining into every area of your life.” Thank you for your light. Thank you for Jesus Christ living and dying for us. I hope his light brightens mine and help me share his light in me to others that need it. IJNIP amen ♥️
