Your Life At 30,000 Feet

If you were to summarize your life from birth to death, how would you describe it? What have you done with the life you have so far?

We learn what we learn as toddlers, we experience our teen years, then early adulthood brings all kinds of things. Then if we live long enough, our senior years arrive. Hopefully our senior years are wise years.

Then death arrives. For some, death arrives unexpectedly and sooner than we thought.

So how would you sum up your life and what would you pass on to those you are leaving behind?

Will you leave good memories? Wealth? Life Lessons? What will your legacy look like? How many will you attract toward Jesus Christ?

Will you be known as a giver of love, grace, kindness, provision, protection and wisdom? Or will you be known as a mean, selfish, and unkind person?

What will your life look like at 30,000 feet when all is said and done?

As I wrap up another year of reading the Bible, there is one thing that bubbles to the top when you read God’s word. He has a plan and a purpose in everything He is involved in.

He’s strategic, there is a beginning and end. And everything in-between has a clear purpose.

In the beginning “God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female. God blessed them and said, “Have many children and grow in number. Fill the earth and be its master. Rule over the fish in the sea and over the birds in the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭NCV‬)

Prior to sin, the original plan was to enjoy God, his creation, and fill the earth and oversee it as we had an eternal life with Him.

Sin broke the relationship and brought death - thus the need for Jesus Christ to come to earth as a human, live a perfect life that we could not and would not.

He paid the price for your sin and mine by dying a horrific death on a cross. A death penalty had to happen for sin. Christ paid it all for those that trust in him. He healed the broken relationship between man and God.

He was resurrected, ascended back to heaven and one day he will return to gather those who love him and live as if he is their Lord and Savior.

Then we will return to the original plan. To live on a new earth and in a new heaven forever (Revelation, chapter 21). We will then enjoy God and His new creation.

In the mean time, we live with a plan and purpose. Jesus summarized it best when he summarized the entire bible.

He said : “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second command is this: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ There are no commands more important than these.” (Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭29‬-‭31‬ ‭NCV)

He said “There are no commands more important than these.”

So that’s our life at 30,000 feet. Love God - Love People - enjoy Him - serve others and prepare to die and be resurrected like Jesus Christ. Live as if we love God and follow Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior of our life.

Pretty basic. Pretty Simple. Yet sin causes us to desire other things.

GOD, thank you for Christmas. Thank you for Jesus Christ. Thank you for offering a way out of hell, and eternal pain. Thank you for loving us when we did not love you. Help us to live our life as if we are going to die, because we will. Help us to love, forgive, be kind, be generous and live as if Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. It may sound religous, but it is what our life looks like at 30,000 feet. Merry Christmas. We love you. IJNIP amen ♥️
