What’s Really On Your Heart?

What’s going on inside you? I mean really.

What kind of thoughts and feelings are buried in there? Not the ones we post. Not the ones we say when someone asks how we’re doing. The real stuff.

When Solomon built the temple, he prayed something that always speaks to me. He said:

“Lord, forgive and treat each person as he should be treated because you know what is in a person’s heart. Only you know what is in everyone’s heart.” (1 Kings 8:39 NCV)

Only God really knows what’s in there. And that can be comforting—or convicting.

So here’s the question: What’s really in your heart today?

Are you chasing approval? Are you stressed and trying to control too much? Do you have a quiet anger simmering underneath? Or maybe you’re just numb, busy, distracted, and too tired to even care?

Are you more drawn to your phone than to prayer? Are you thinking about money more than mission? Do you think more about what others think—than what God sees?

We can be good at hiding. We’ve all learned how to fake it. But God doesn’t look at filters. He looks at hearts.

“You see what is in people’s hearts, and you know what they think. (Jeremiah 20:12 NCV)

And you know what I’ve learned?

What’s on my heart is usually what I’ve been feeding it. What I’ve been focusing on. So if I’m anxious or off track, it’s not random. I’ve probably just been looking at the wrong things.

Maybe the better quetion is: What’s on God’s heart about you right now?

God gave you and me today. He gave us life. He’s the one that lets your heart beat and your lungs breathe.

He lets you love people. He lets you work, earn, build, and enjoy. And yes, He lets you steward over it all. It’s His. We’re just managers.

It’s His kingdom. We are the guest.

So today, just take a moment and ask yourself: “What’s really in my heart?”

And then ask God, “What’s in Yours?”

And that may be where things begin to shift for you today.

GOD, I have friends struggling with big stuff. I know some that are not even considering you at all. Help us all to think of you. Your mission. Your purpose. Your eternal vision. And help us turn that vision into a new life - starting today. IJNIP amen ♥️
