What kind of Mother did you have? What kind of Mother are you? If you are not a Mother, but you have mothered others, what a gift you are.
No, not all Mothers are awesome, however most are. There’s something sacred about a mother’s love - deep, steady, and almost indescribable.
A Mom reflects God’s heart in a way that nothing else quite does. While fathers often carry the weight of provision and protection, mothers have been gifted with the quiet strength of nurture, compassion, and tireless devotion.
Mothers feel things deeper. They love longer. They forgive faster. And they carry more than most ever realize.
Proverbs 31 paints the picture of a godly woman, one who "works with eager hands," "provides food for her family," and "opens her arms to the poor" (vv. 13, 15, 20).
But behind every one of those verses is a mother who chooses selflessness, over and over again.
Whether she's folding laundry, packing lunches, praying at midnight, or encouraging her child after a hard day—she is loving like Jesus.
Isaiah 66:13 gives us this picture: “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you…”
God Himself compares His love to the comfort of a mother. Why? Because there’s nothing quite like it.
A mother can see the worst in her child and still believe the best. She can be stretched to her limit and still give more.
And let’s not forget her love for her husband. Titus 2:4 calls older women to train younger women “to love their husbands and children,” suggesting it’s a calling and a discipline—not just an emotion.
A godly mother doesn’t just love when it’s easy; she shows up when it’s hard. She honors her marriage, works through wounds, and leads with grace.
So today, whether you’re a mother, you’re missing your mother, or you’re simply grateful for the women who have mothered you through life, take a moment and give thanks to them and to God.
Let’s honor the women who live out sacrificial love. Who forgive quickly. Who support endlessly. Who reflect the heart of God in the way they love their families.
“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” — Proverbs 31:28
GOD, I sure do miss my Mom. Thank you for giving her the love that she gave me. Help me pay that love forward. And for all the Moms struggling, the Moms that are sick or dying please bless them. And help us love our Moms until we - or they go to heaven. IJNIP amen ♥️
