Say Less. Do More. Live By Faith

What if the life you want. the one full of purpose, joy, and peace, is just on the other side of one act of faith? How do you gain that type of life?

It’s not the life you talk about or post about, but the kind you do when you have no clue what’s next. That’s a whole new ball game. And it takes faith.

Faith isn’t really faith until it costs you comfort, control, or clarity. It’s not faith until you don’t know the outcome.

You can know about faith and still never live by faith.

Take Abraham in the Bible. He had every reason to play it safe. He was old, established, and honestly, a little too far along in life to be uprooting everything.

But then came the call from God. No map. No timetable. Just a promise.

“If Abraham was made right by the things he did, he had a reason to brag. But this is not God’s view, because the Scripture says, ‘Abraham believed God, and God accepted Abraham’s faith, and that faith made him right with God.’” (Romans 4:2–3 NCV)

It’s like us traveling the country in our Airstream sounds dreamy, and it is, but even the road comes with subtle battles and temptations.

Every day feels like a “day off,” and that’s where the temptation creeps in. It’s easier to skip Bible reading. To scroll instead of pray. To indulge more than necessary.

To put off discipline for later. But the truth? For those who follow Jesus, there is no off switch.

Relaxing isn’t wrong. Recharging is necessary. But we are never off duty from loving God and loving others. That’s our core identity.

The Holy Spirit lives in us to help, but so does our old self, and some days, that war is real.

“I do not understand the things I do. I do not do what I want to do, and I do the things I hate” (Romans 7:15 NCV).

The good news is that God is patient. And the Holy Spirit never tires. He simply waits for a willing heart, one that wants God more than comfort, control, or indulgence.

“We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him. They are the people he called, because that was his plan” (Romans 8:28 NCV).

A good friend once told me, “Say less. Do more.” That really hits home for me because I’m a talker. Especially when it comes to faith.

You don’t have to explain everything to everyone. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to walk. Even when it’s hard. Even when it’s quiet. Even when the outcome is cloudy. That is faith. Faith is no good without action.

The Apostle James said Faith without works (action) is dead. And works without faith is dead. (James 2:14-26)

So now we know. But just knowing is not enough. Now, it’s time to act on that thing that you’ve never been able to overcome. Faith is not found in perfect plans, it’s found in imperfect steps toward a perfect God.

LORD, that thing or things that we can never seem to overcome in our life - please ask the Holy Spirit to help us. But then, help us act on it and keep acting on it until we win. Please help us. IJNIP amen ♥️
