I Just Can’t Move Forward

What in your life feels so large right now that you honestly do not know how to get past it?
Before you scroll away, stay with me for about three minutes. This is not a lecture. It is about real life, real struggle, and real hope. If you feel stuck, this may matter more than you think.
Maybe it is depression that keeps pulling you back down. Thoughts you never invited but cannot silence. Being overweight and feeling stuck in patterns you have tried to change more times than you can count. Anger that keeps resurfacing. A lack of forgiveness you cannot force. No motivation. No energy. No vision for tomorrow. The list could go on, and for many people, it does.
If you are here, you are probably not just looking for relief. You want healing. Deep healing. You want a new way of thinking because the old patterns keep repeating. And if you are honest, you know this is bigger than willpower. You almost need to become a different person. To be frank, you need a miracle.
The Bible does not tell you to simply try harder.
“Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NCV)
That word new matters. Not repaired. Not improved. New. When someone gives their life to Jesus, God does not ask them to drag the same broken inner life forward. He creates something entirely different.
This was always God’s plan.
“I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26, NCV)
So what has Jesus got to do with this?
And if you are not a Jesus person, please stay with me for a moment. This matters.
The truth is, people sin. People sin against you. And you sin too. That creates real damage. Shame, guilt, anger, fear, and separation. You may need to forgive someone who hurt you. You may need to forgive yourself. But even that is not enough.
You and I must ask God to forgive us.
Here is the part that sounds almost too good to be true. God already has.
“He loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NCV)
Jesus paid for your sin and mine. Fully. Completely. When you accept Christ, you receive something you have never had before.
“But when God our Savior showed us his kindness and love, he saved us… He washed away our sins, giving us new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.” (Titus 3:4–5, NCV)
The Holy Spirit comes to live inside you. The same power that created the universe now works within a human life. I know it sounds unbelievable. But it is real. Millions of people are being changed, healed, and overcoming because God now lives in them.
“And the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.” (Romans 8:11, NCV)
This is why real change becomes possible.
“So if anyone belongs to Christ, there is a new creation. The old things have gone; everything is made new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NCV)
Please know this. I am not saying it will be easy. It may be the hardest thing you ever do. People say, “God will not give you more than you can handle.” I disagree. I believe He will. So much that you finally stop relying on yourself and call on Him for help.
And He does.
This is where real faith happens. Faith is not a feeling. Faith is acting on trust. Depending. Relying. Leaning your full weight on God. It is not passive, but it is surrendered.
“Trust the Lord with all your heart, and don’t depend on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5, NCV)
When you see God move, it will be because you trusted Him enough to ask for help, then worked hard in obedience and watched what only God could do.
If you cannot move forward on your own, that does not disqualify you. It may be the very place where God meets you. The old you does not win this battle. The old you dies.
And the new you rises. That is not the end of your story.
It is the beginning.
LORD, help me when I doubt. Help me and anyone reading this when it’s hard. We surrender. We ask Jesus to Lord over our life. Forgive our sins. Help us to forgive those who have done us wrong. Give us help – please give us help. IJNIP amen ♥️
