HOW REMEMBERING HELPS

What type of things do you remember and as you remember those things, they help you maintain a healthy life and lifestyle?

For example as you focus and remember to maintain a healthy body, it enspires you to eat, drink and workout properly.

What type of things do you remember in order maintain a healthy life and lifestyle? I suppose I should define “healthy”.

What I mean is spiritual, mental and emotional health - not so much physical health.

For what it’s worth, most people know that if we are emotionally healthy, our physical health is better. So I’m really speaking of the mind and heart …

So what king of things do you remember?

When I say remember, I’m speaking of things like “we reap what we sow, so sow well” (Galatians 6:7) or “Our secret sins are not hidden from God” (Psalm 90:8) or “One day, our life will be judged” (Romans 2:16) - and the list goes on.

Back in the day when Gideon, the prophet lived, the author of Judges wrote ”As soon as Gideon died, the people of Israel were again unfaithful to God and followed the Baals (the idols). They made Baal-Berith their god. The Israelites did not remember the Lord their God, who had saved them from all their enemies living all around them.“ (Judges‬ ‭8‬:‭33‬-‭34‬ ‭NCV‬‬)

The point is when we remember our love for God, our spouse or partner, and remember a love, grace and forgiveness for other people, and so on, it affects how we live.

Remembering good and Godly things, it drives our decisions. So how do we stay connected, focused and have these Godly things on the forefront of our minds and lives?

It’s simple, but requires somewhat of a discipline. It’s a daily routine for reading God’s word, receiving his counsel and living out what we read and study, praying and staying connected to Godly things.

It sounds easy, but it’s not.

As we remember and educate and practice good and Godly things, we remember to love, serve and forgive. It’s a very full and fantastic way to live.

LORD, help us remember you, and Christ’s sacrifice for the sins we can so easily commit. Help us remember to reach out and serve others. Help us to hang out with the right people that draw us to good and Godly things. IJNIP amen ♥️
