How Do You Feel About Their Success?

Be honest, if someone earns more, has more, laughs more, looks better, enjoys more - more than you - how do you feel about their success?

Can you truly celebrate the joy happening in the life of others?

Our self-esteem is often the result of who we know we are - compared to who we know we should be or could be.

If we see someone else with more and we have less, our self esteem and happiness can take a hit. It’s just true.

This happened to a man who had it all. His name was Saul. God allowed him to be King, blessed him, but he stopped following God. Then the Lord chose David.

Saul hired David and “Saul sent David to fight in different battles, and David was very successful.” (1 Samuel‬ ‭18‬:‭5‬ ‭NCV‬)

“After David had killed in battle, he and the men returned home. Women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul. They sang songs of joy, danced, and played tambourines and stringed instruments.” (1 Samuel‬ ‭18‬:‭6‬ ‭NCV‬‬)

“As they played, they sang, “Saul has killed thousands of his enemies, but David has killed tens of thousands.” (1 Samuel‬ ‭18‬:‭7‬ ‭NCV‬‬)

“The women’s song upset Saul, and he became very angry. So Saul watched David closely from then on, because he was jealous.” (1 Samuel‬ ‭18‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NCV‬‬)

The truth is, we all have a life. We all have 24 hours per day. No one can invent or purchase more time. The question is “Have we been good (and Godly) stewards of what we have?”

How’s it going with you? Are you deeply, and truly happy? What are you chasing? What are your goals and motives? Only you and God know …

There is nothing like giving life our hardest. There’s nothing like giving God our best. And there’s nothing like serving others to our fullest.

So a man reaps what he sows - sow well. (Galatians 6:7)

God is the one who blesses our life and our decisions of how we handle our life is up to us. What needs repairing, and improving in your life?
