When you compare yourself to others, what do you think of yourself?
Some, silently and secretly feel they fall short. Others sore like eagles and are not as sharp (or good) as they think.
What about you? How good - or bad are you?
Many people have not read first and second Kings in the Bible. King Saul, David, and Solomon ruled over the united kingdoms at various times, and the promised land then split and then 20 kings ruled over Israel with 19 kings ruling over Judah.
It’s a long and grueling story of division, redemption and finally unity.
Back then “Hoshea ruled in Samaria nine years. He did what the Lord said was wrong, but he was not as bad as the kings of Israel who had ruled before him.” (2 Kings 17:1-2 NCV)
How would you like to be describe like that? I mean the other kings were sacrificing children, cutting themselves and the horrible list went on.
When I compare myself, I compare myself to Jesus Christ. Then I realize I’m a very dark, sinful and a lost person - until - I accepted him as my Lord and Savior.
Now, God sees me “in Jesus”. He paid for my sins. I won’t have to pay for them. He lived up to God’s perfect standard for me. And I accept him as my Lord and Savior.
I’m heaven bound, blessed now in my life (even with leukemia) and I’m thankful a thousand times.
My love and appreciation cause me to reach for dependence on God, ask the Holy Spirit to guide me and help and thank Jesus for dying for me. Now, I see myself as rescued, renewed and desiring God’s plan for me.
That’s how bad I am … but Jesus Christ makes me new.
LORD, I’ll never be perfect, but Jesus is for me and the Holy Spirit helps me. I can’t thank you enough for saving my soul, giving me hope, pointing me in the right direction and surrounding me with people that love me, especially my sweet wife Wendy. Please save me from leukemia and help me decide on a treatment. I trust and need you every day. IJNIP ♥️HOW BAD ARE YOU?
