Wendy’s Test - And The Test Of Faith

How do you know if you’re really healthy?

Well, you need to get checked. That’s for sure. I discovered prostate cancer at 50 and leukemia at 66—all through a routine physical. How’s your routine physical going?

On that note, we just learned that Wendy had a heart attack. We didn’t even know until her checkup yesterday. She can guess when it might have happened—times of heavy stress and pressure—but heart tests revealed the truth.

Now she begins a series of tests to see how serious it is. Please pray for her.

But I want to take this deeper.

Yes, the heart is a major organ, not to be ignored. Wendy is nervous—but faithful. Because she knows what we all need to remember: “God has a plan. For her. For me. For you.”

“We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28

Nothing touches our lives without “first” passing through the hands of a sovereign and loving God.

Do you believe that?

If so, the question becomes: What does God want us to do with the circumstances He has allowed in our life?

He doesn’t want complaining. He wants us praying.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” — Philippians 4:6

He doesn’t want silence. He wants us testifying.

“Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story…” — Psalm 107:2

He doesn’t want fear. He wants faith.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” — Psalm 56:3

He doesn’t want us to fear death. He wants us to look toward heaven.

“To live is Christ, and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21

At the end of the day, the real question is:

“Do we want what God can do for us… or do we just want God?”

If we have only God—what do we have?

We have life. “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life.’” — John 14:6

We have love. “God is love.” — 1 John 4:8

We have forgiveness through Christ. “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” — Ephesians 1:7

We have mercy, grace, generosity, patience—all the attributes of God poured into our lives. We have His love lavished on us as His children.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” — 1 John 3:1

So again I ask:

“What do you truly desire—the things God can do for you in this life? Or God Himself?”

When we are full of God, we can pour ourselves out for others. Because God stabilizes, fills, protects, and provides. Why?

So we can lean into Him and rest, knowing He provides our needs. To feel His peace. To stand secure in His unconditional love. To live with purpose in His plan—past, present, and future.

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You.” — Isaiah 26:3

I think she will be just fine …

LORD, please help Wendy. Please help me help her. And help us love You—not just what You do for us, but who You are. IJNIP amen ♥️
