Shhh - Be Quiet - And Just Watch and Listen

How many sunrises or sunsets do you actually watch?
I see many now, but I wish I had seen more when I was younger. I wish I had known then what I know now, that God speaks in stillness, in beauty, and through His creation.
When you see one, try this: just sit quietly and watch. Don’t talk. Don’t move. Just breathe and listen.
The sun rises all over the world. Everyone sees it. I sometimes wonder, when Christ returns, will it be like that?
Will He circle the earth so everyone sees Him? Or will the earth orbit around Him, as if all of creation is bowing before its King? It seems fitting that the world would turn toward Him.
Scripture says, “Look, he is coming with the clouds, and everyone will see him, even those who pierced him. And all peoples of the earth will cry loudly because of him. Yes, this will happen!” (Revelation 1:7 NCV).
I love sunrises and sunsets. I love to sit still, to ponder, and to just listen. God is in creation because He is the Creator.
Can you even imagine who He really is? He made the sun, the stars, the universe, and every single detail we can see, and even those we can’t. His creation is the evidence of His existence.
“There are things about him that people cannot see—his eternal power and all the things that make him God. But since the beginning of the world those things have been easy to understand by what God has made. So people have no excuse for the bad things they do.” (Romans 1:20 NCV).
The design of everything proves there is a Designer. You can question it or deny it, but it’s undeniable. It’s designed. You and I are designed. Every detail in creation, every cell, every color in the sky, it all points to Him.
And one day, Christ will return and make all things new.
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, because the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and there was no sea anymore.” (Revelation 21:1 NCV).
That’s when true life begins, the perfect earth and heaven, the eternal home of all who believe. “Now we see a dim reflection, as if we were looking into a mirror, but then we shall see clearly.” (1 Corinthians 13:12 NCV).
Our best days here are only a foggy image of the eternal perfection waiting for those who follow Christ. As the old hymn says, “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.”
That song was fashioned from Jesus’ words: “Everyone who hears my words and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, but it did not fall, because it was built on rock.” (Matthew 7:24–25 NCV).
God is what matters. Jesus truly is King. The Holy Spirit is our helper and comforter. And the amazing part is, you and I are invited into all of it.
We are tiny, tiny specks in His eternal plan, yet we matter to Him. So much that He gave us Jesus, to save us, to redeem us, and to bring us into His forever home. Have you taken the invitation seriously?
Just stop for a moment. Receive it. Let it soak in. Watch the sun rise or set and remember, the same God who painted that sky also created you.
God, thank You for including me. Thank You for the beauty of Your creation and the promise of Your return. Help me to stay still, to listen, and to never forget that You made me, love me, and have invited me into Your eternal story. IJNIP amen ♥️
