What does your prayer life look like? Do you pray? How does prayer work? Do you pray to God? Do you pray to Jesus? Do you pray to The Holy Spirit?
How often do you pray? Do you even believe in prayer?
A lot of people say they will pray and they simply get busy and forget. I think they have good intentions. Some know it’s just a good thing to say and frankly don’t pray. Some are warriors in prayer.
Me? I like to pray with people so I don’t forget to pray. And I like the fact I’m praying “with” someone, right there - right now.
Are you familiar with the story of the lady who nagged the Judge?
“Jesus used this story to teach his followers that they should always pray and never lose hope.” (Luke 18:1 NCV)
“In a certain town there was a judge who did not respect God or care about people. In that same town there was a widow who kept coming to this judge, saying, ‘Give me my rights against my enemy.” (Luke 18:2,3 NCV)
“For a while the judge refused to help her. But afterwards, he thought to himself, ‘Even though I don’t respect God or care about people, I will see that she gets her rights. Otherwise she will continue to bother me until I am worn out.” (Luke 18:4,5 NCV)
”The Lord said, “Listen to what the unfair judge said. God will always give what is right to his people who cry to him night and day, and he will not be slow to answer them.” (Luke 18:6,7 NCV)
“I tell you, God will help his people quickly. But when the Son of Man comes again, will he find those on earth who believe in him?” (Luke 18:8 NCV)
So what’s the take away?
Pray for others - nag God. Keep at it. Visualize this. Jesus in Heaven advocating our prayers. God hearing them. The Holy Spirit praying for and with us. It’s really real.
And over and over the prayers keep coming. When Moses begged God not kill the Israelites, God changed his mind and did not kill them for their disobedience.
Jesus himself said “Look at the birds in the air. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. And you know that you are worth much more than the birds. You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it.” (Matthew 6:26-27 NCV)
Pray. Believe. Nag the Lord. And keep praying. Pray until the air is out of the lungs and we have passed. God loves you and me and he really does hear the prayers. Never stop.
LORD, hear our prayers. Answer our prayers. Help us pray for others. Help us pray with confidence, trust, faith that you hear and respond. You love us and you love to see us pray. Thank you for hearing. IJNIP amen ♥️
