Why do you post what you post on social media? Be honest.
I see many post photos of themselves, thinking it’s a great shot of themselves - for what reasons? What are these people trying to communicate?
I see family photos - why post that particular shot? I’m not saying it’s wrong, I’m asking what is the motive?
Then of course there’s the political or religious post, posts of our personal beliefs. Many communicate side-way messages targeted at certain people.
Some search for friends and relationships, while others hope they get a lot of likes and friend requests.
Yes, there are those who share inspiration, hope and love for others too.
I think if we are honest with ourselves, we are very much into ourselves. We just love ourself. It’s just true.
I truly believe this is why Jesus said “love others” as much as you love yourself. (Matthew 22:39) Jesus knew we would love ourself - a lot.
On the polar opposite scale, maybe we should worship God more than ourself. I know that sounds so religious and sarcastic, but I don’t mean it that way.
God protects, provides and “always” loves us. It’s wise to worship our Creator who looks after us with great love. He is worthy of worship and worthy of our time.
Maybe we should feel and think what the author of Chronicles felt when he wrote:
“Depend on the Lord and his strength; always go to him for help. He is the Lord our God. His laws are for all the world.” (1 Chronicles 16:11,14 NCV)
“Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Every day tell how he saves us. All the gods of the nations are only idols, but the Lord made the skies. Thank the Lord because he is good. His love continues forever.” (1 Chronicles 16:23, 26, 34 NCV)
As the author said we make our own gods and idolize the wrong things. We can worship things that are not wise. What are you focusing and worshipping these days?
There is nothing like honoring God every morning. Thanking Him for life, love and blessing. We are so blessed and God provides it all - all of it. Maybe it’s time to refocus our worship.
LORD, just thank you for health, and all the blessings your give us in this life. Thank you for sending Jesus Christ to save our souls for eternity. Thank you for loving us that much. Thank you for never stopping your love for us. Help us worship you and we just say “thank you” with a sincere and loving heart. IJNIP amen ♥️
