What Season Of Life Are You In?

Where are you right now in life? Have you ever stopped to think about what season you’re in?
Life comes in stages, and each one carries its own beauty, challenges, and purpose. The question is: “Can you see the season of your life and what are you suppose to be doing with it?”
I’ve heard it described like this: Spring is when we’re young and learning, when everything feels new and fresh.
Summer is when we’re in our teens and twenties, strong, energetic, full of fire, sometimes more muscles than brains, or more emotions than reality.
Fall is when we’re older and seasoned. It should be the most colorful time of our life, when we give away all our color, wisdom, and love instead of holding it tight or taking it to the grave.
Then comes Winter, when we’ve really aged and slowed down. But even then, we should be sharing God’s wisdom and our life stories to prepare the next generation for life and eternity, and in doing so, preparing ourselves as well.
King Solomon wrote, “There is a time for everything, and everything on earth has its special season” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NCV).
In that chapter, he reflects that there’s a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pull up, a time to cry and a time to laugh, a time to be silent and a time to speak.
In other words, God has designed life with rhythms. Nothing stays the same, and each season has a purpose under heaven. Can you see and are you aware of your season?
What are you suppose to be learning and doing in your current season? What does this mean to us today?
It means we shouldn’t resist the season we’re in but embrace it. When we’re young, we should focus on learning, growing, and building strong roots in God.
When we’re in the heat of summer, full of ambition and energy, we should use our strength to serve others and honor the Lord and work to get ahead. Our tank is full and we are full of energy. It’s time to push, press and forge ahead.
When we’re in fall, we should pour out wisdom, love, and encouragement, investing in people instead of possessions.
And when winter comes, we should share our stories and faith, reminding others of what matters most. This encourages others and builds faith and deep roots in ourselves.
The Bible reinforces this truth again and again. “Teach us how short our lives really are so that we may be wise” (Psalm 90:12 NCV).
Paul also reminds us, “So be very careful how you live. Live wisely, not like fools. I mean that you should use every opportunity you have for doing good, because these are evil times” (Ephesians 5:15-16 NCV).
Practically, I think this means asking God each day: What season am I in, and how do You want me to live it? Am I learning, serving, giving, or preparing? I think if we are honest, we fall in the trap of living for ourselves, rather than investing in service for others - and God.
As we serve, we grow. As you give, we heal. As we invest in others, we grow ourselves. Other-centeredness is far better than self-centeredness.
None of us knows how many seasons we’ll see, but each one is a gift. If we live with open hands and willing hearts, every stage of life can glorify God and bless those around us. And - we gain.
So what time is it in your life? Wherever you are, try to live it fully, wisely, and with eternity in view. You will see a new life, just as soon as you begin to embrace your season. I promise …
GOD - help us see clearly the season we are in and use for others and you. IJNIP amen ♥️
