How would you describe God’s Kingdom? Is it a place? Is it a feeling? Is it heaven? Is it a movement?
Jesus prayed “May your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven”? What does that mean?
One time, ”Some of the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the kingdom of God come?” Jesus answered, “God’s kingdom is coming, but not in a way that you will be able to see with your eyes. People will not say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ because God’s kingdom is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21 NCV)
God’s Kingdom is awakened inside of us by The Holy Spirit.
We desire Christ. We desire purity. We love God. We love others as ourself. We forgive others and give. Our goals change. Our feelings of money and possessions change.
God becomes important. We desire to worship him. We want live as if Jesus is our Lord “and” Savior. We grow and possess ”… love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control … (Galatians 5:22-23 NCV)
When the Kingdom comes ”Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their own sinful selves. They have given up their old selfish feelings and the evil things they wanted to do.“ (Galatians 5:24 NCV)
It’s like your love changes. I used to smoke cigars for 15+ years. Wendy hated it. One day, I realized I loved Wendy more than cigars. I quit cigars.
Love toward God and others happens the same way. You can’t explain it. It just shows up, God’s Kingdom causes you to confess your sins, brings you to repentance and you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior.
It caught me by suprise. And it’s been surprising me ever since. There’s nothing like it.
GOD, may your king come come in me as it is in heaven. IJNIP amen ♥️
