What Does Peace Look Like In Your Life?

How would you describe peace in your life?

For some, it’s the absence of conflict, anger and fighting. For others, it’s just quiet moments and times of silence.

Then there are others who have internal warfare, manifesting in loneliness, unhappiness and a search for security, significance and confirmation.

These hunting expeditions for real peace include can include all sorts of hobbies, long work hours, revolving doors in relationships and the list could keep going. Yet peace still seems far away.

Do you have peace in your life? I mean deep seated, strong joy, with substantial roots. Do you have a big sense of appreciation and contentment?

Are you happy with yourself and your circumstances? Are you searching for happiness?

King David prayed to God and said:

“You have made me very happy, happier than others are, even with all their grain and new wine. I go to bed and sleep in peace, because, Lord, only you keep me safe.” (Psalms‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NCV‬)

It’s interesting that the observation and comparison in others, for him gave him peace with God. However it can also develop a sense of unhappiness and jealousy. King Solomon once said:

“I realized the reason people work hard and try to succeed: They are jealous of each other. This, too, is useless, like chasing the wind.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭NCV‬‬)

In the end, we will find “nothing” brings true success, content or happiness except our relationship with God - Christ - and The Holy Spirit. Not religion. We were created for this purpose - a relationship with The Holy Team.

This relationship with The Holy Team (not religion) is the only thing that equates into true joy. Especially during life trials.

There is something about worshipping God at church with others, reading his word, listening to Christian music, hanging out with other believers and praying - it just a better way.

LORD, you created us for a relationship with you. Nothing will replace you. Only a relationship with you, your son and The Holy Spirt is one to sustain us and complete us. I’m satisfied. Thank you. IJNIP amen ♥️
