What are the things in your life that have low value?
For example, everyone has become trapped by “click-bait” on social media and before you know it, you’ve given it an hour of your life. For some, many hours per day, week and month.
Why is that?
The Psalmist said “Keep me from looking at worthless things. Let me live by your word.” (Psalms 119:37 NCV)
It sounds so preachy, but he is basically saying “keep me from worthless things - instead, let me live by your word.”
The eyes lead to the heart, mind and then the whole person.
Many look at scripture then forget it. Many see a better way, yet lose hope and begin to see and choose the lesser. Why is that?
It’s interesting that he also said “Lead me in the path of your commands, because that makes me happy. Make me want to keep your rules instead of wishing for riches.” (Psalms 119:35-36 NCV)
At the end of the day, we chase so many things, but only one keeps filling, fulfilling and delivering happiness - God’s ways.
It sounds so religious, yet it’s the truth of all truths.
Have fun, yet guard what you look at.
It’s like the old hymn “turn my eyes upon Jesus” - if we see God watching us, and envision Christ dying for our sins, maybe our eyes and what we look at may see the good and Godly things of life.
Thank God some live to serve, to help and minister to others. Thank God there are people who see the needy, hungry, sad and lonely.
And when we see the right things, we tend to do right.
LORD, help me look at things that honor you, honor my wife and honor others. Help me be pure.IJNIP amen ♥️
