There Is A Time

When will you plan a vacation? What time have you planned to visit friends or your family? What time do you plan to go to work and take off for the day?

Do you set times for certain things to happen in your life? For example, is it time for football or hunting season?

The point is, we make plans and set a time to do certain things in our life. Is God any different? Has He planned a time for ________ (fill in the blank) ?

He has.

One time in the OT, Isaiah wrote: “The Lord has chosen a time for punishment. He has chosen a year when people must pay for the wrongs they did to Jerusalem.” (‭Isaiah‬ ‭34‬:‭8‬ ‭NCV‬)

One of the things I love about reading the OT is that it describes God’s character; his patience, his grace and even his judgement. God has set a time for your and my judgement as well - it’s our death date.

God knows how and when you and I will die. He even knows if you will choose His Son as your Lord and Savior. He knows your sins, your weaknesses and the solutions to your problems.

He can orchestrate, create or protect anything in your life - good or bad. He can punish. He can offer grace and forgiveness. He can wait and be patient. Or He can say “enough is enough” and allow Satan to have his way in our life.

There is a time when he says - “It’s now time”. If you read Ecclesiastes, Solomon wrote that there is a time for everything; birth, death, war, peace, planting, a time to throw things away, a time to keep things and so on. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

The Apostle Luke said “God even knows how many hairs you have on your head.” (Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭7‬ ‭NCV‬‬) That’s unimaginable! God knows everything about you. And He has a certain time for things to happen in your life. Do you believe it?

There is even a time when Christ will return and rule. The Apostle Matthew said “At that time, the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the peoples of the world will cry. They will see the Son of Man coming on clouds in the sky with great power and glory.” (Matthew 24:30 NCV)

He went on to say: “No one knows when that day or time will be, not the angels in heaven, not even the Son. Only the Father knows.” (Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭36 NCV)

There really is a time for everything. Is it time for you? Is it time to submit to God? Is it time to accept Christ? Is it time to get healthy? Is it time to reconcile a relationship? Is it time to get to work? Is it time to stop working so much?

Is it time to become more in tune with what God desires for us?

GOD, help us seek you first. Help us see what we should do with our time. Most importantly, help us know it’s time that we “love you” with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, and love others as much as we love ourself. Maybe it’s time to live more for you and give more of our life away to serve others. Help us. IJNIP amen ♥️
