What is your opinion of the Devil? I heard once, “If there is a real God, there is a real Devil.” Do you know the history of Satan?
For starters, Satan sins and Sin is not a thing, it’s the absence of something Godly and good.
God creates beings to choose him. This is true for Angels and Humans. And Lucifer - Satan was one of God’s Angels, and he chose to be against God. At that point, he was cast out of heaven.
Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” He also said “Listen, I have given you power to walk on snakes and scorpions, power that is greater than the enemy has. So nothing will hurt you.” (Luke 10:18,19 NCV)
Satan is absent of God. Christ has been given all authority over the earth. For now, Satan is limited to the authority of Christ. This is evident in many passages in the Bible.
One example was when “The Lord chose seventy-two others and sent them out in pairs ahead of him into every town and place where he planned to go.”
(Luke 10:1 NCV)
“When the seventy-two came back, they were very happy and said, “Lord, even the demons obeyed us when we used your name!” (Luke 10:17 NCV)
When we submit our life to things ungodly, we submit to Satan. It’s a very dangerous place to live. Satan has the ability to take your life and make it horribly miserable before you die.
The Apostle Paul said: “Be strong in the Lord and in his great power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can fight against the devil’s evil tricks.” (Ephesians 6:10,11 NCV)
Satan is far more strategic and tricky than you and I. His world is invisible, demonic and desires to destroy anything Godly.
The Apostle Paul said: “Our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world.” (Ephesians 6:10)
So what should we do? How should we live?
The Apostle James said “So give yourselves completely to God. Stand against the devil, and the devil will run from you. Come near to God, and God will come near to you.” (James 4:7 NCV)
He went on to say: “You sinners, clean sin out of your lives. You who are trying to follow God and the world at the same time, make your thinking pure.” (James 4:7-8 NCV)
Then, if bad things occur as we live in God’s will, we know that nothing comes to us before it first passes through God’s hands first. We may not always understand though.
Even King Solomon said “God has given us a desire to know the future. He does everything just right and on time, but people can never completely understand what he is doing.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NCV)
We just need to live in God’s will and trust Him. His ways are not our ways, yet He always has our best interest at heart.
LORD, please protect us from Satan. You are in control. You have given full control to your Son Christ. Help us walk with you, follow Jesus Christ and please protect us. IJNIP amen ♥️
