The Book That Won’t Go Away

What truth can you build your life on? Is it safe to go “all in” on the Bible—trusting its commands, promises, and teachings?

Your eternity may hinge on the answer.

Josh McDowell once set out to disprove the Bible. He has tried to disprove it much farther than you and I ever will attempt.

As an atheist, he spent more than 700 hours investigating its reliability. But instead of discrediting it, he became convinced. He wrote:

“The Bible is not merely a book of religion—it is the most reliable book of antiquity.”

Why? Because the evidence is overwhelming. His book, “Evidence That Demands A Verdict” will persuade the biggest skeptic.

The Bible has more manuscript support than any ancient text—over 5,800 Greek copies of the New Testament alone, many dated within a generation of the originals.

Compare that to Plato or Homer, whose works have only a handful of manuscripts written centuries later.

Archaeology continues to confirm the Bible’s historical accuracy. Cities like Jericho, rulers like Pontius Pilate, and events involving King David have all been supported by non-biblical sources.

No major biblical claim has ever been disproved by archaeology. Even scientists now say it all seems to be designed.

Then there’s prophecy. Hundreds of predictions—many about Jesus—were fulfilled with stunning precision.

Isaiah 53, Micah 5:2, Psalm 22, and Zechariah 12:10 foretold His birth, suffering, and resurrection, long before Jesus came on the scene.

The Bible was written over 1,500 years, by 40+ authors, on three continents, in three languages—yet it tells one unified story: God’s plan to redeem humanity through Jesus Christ. How could that be?

The Bible has been banned, burned, mocked, and outlawed—yet it has endured and remains the most printed, translated, and read book in history.

That kind of resilience is hard to ignore.

It has changed billions of lives, endured fierce opposition, and remains the most printed and read book in history.

Jesus believed in it. He said, “Your word is truth” (John 17:17). If you trust Jesus, you can trust the Bible.

McDowell’s journey wasn’t emotional—it was evidence-based with a determined attitude to prove it wrong. . He said, “My skepticism gave way to belief. The evidence was too strong to ignore.”

In the end, belief in the Bible is a step of faith—but it’s not a blind leap. It’s a reasoned trust in a book that continues to prove itself true.

Here’s the bottom line: It takes faith, yet logic proves it’s truth. Many doubt, however they’ve just not vetted it yet. If we really dive into the evidence, it will demand a verdict.

“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” —Isaiah 40:8

GOD, help us believe you are real. That Jesus is real. That the Holy Spirit is real. Help us use your word as a compass, an owners manual and as truth. Your very words breathe life in our our lives. Thank you a thousand times for your love. For Jesus. For the help of The Holy Spririt. And for the Bible. IJNIP amen ♥️
