What’s the hardest thing you have worked for in your life? Did you get to see it finished? Did you get to enjoy it? Hopefully your own life is what you are working on.
If you haven’t got my new book “You Finishing Well” (Amazon, Kindle), you should read it.
I promise, I’m not trying to sell a book, but instead - provide what I think is the most important information about finishing our lives well, full, and with peace and happiness.
It’s about how you would finish your own life well.
This topic comes up as I read about King Solomon’s temple - the author writes:
“Finally the work King Solomon did for the Temple of the Lord was finished. Solomon brought in everything his father David had set apart for the Temple—silver, gold, and other articles. He put everything in the treasuries of the Temple of the Lord.” (1 Kings 7:51 NCV)
Are you familiar with the outcome of this magnificent temple? It was torn down 400 years later by troops commanded by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar.
This is a picture of life. No matter the beauty and size, one day it all comes to an end. In the end, King Solomon died. And in the end, even his awesome temple that took many years and thousands of people to build - came to an end.
As Leukemia arrived in my life the other day (CLL), honestly it causes me to think of the end more than previous days. I’m not in panic. Instead, i’m in a mode of pondering, praying and being more thankful than ever for a beautiful life God has given me.
Hopefully my life is far from over, but in the end - there is an end. Are you ready for your end? Are you working diligently on finishing your life well?
There’s nothing like it …
King Solomon said himself It is better to go to a funeral than to a party, because everyone must die, and the living need to remember this.” (Ecclesiastes 7:2 NCV)
LORD, you have blessed me greatly. I love my life so much because of your blessings. But as I ponder you loving me when I didn’t love you - when you rescued me when I was not even looking for you - when you saved my soul when I didn’t even care about my soul - who loves like that? You do. So I choose you. Help me. Please heal me. And if I need to fight, make me strong. IJNIP amen ♥️
