Does Everyone Go To Heaven - or Some Type of Utopia

Someone recently told me they believed in near-death experiences (NDEs) as proof that everyone will eventually experience eternal peace.
That no one will face judgment. That heaven (or some version of it) is the final destination for all, no matter what they believed in this life.
It sounds hopeful. Comforting. Even spiritual. But is it true?
I’ve investigated many NDE accounts, some beautiful, some terrifying. Some claim to see light, peace, even loved ones. Others describe darkness, fear, and separation.
I don’t doubt that some of these experiences are real. But the question isn’t if they happened. The question is where do they come from, and do they match what God has already told us?
Scripture does not deny that people can have supernatural moments—dreams, visions, even encounters near death. In fact, God has used them many times.
Joel wrote, “Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.” (Joel 2:28 NCV)
But not all visions are from God. The Bible also warns about deceptive experiences that appear spiritual.
“The devil will try to use every kind of evil trick to fool those who are lost. They are lost because they refused to love the truth that would save them.” (2 Thessalonians 2:9–10 NCV)
So even if someone has an NDE, that experience doesn’t override God’s Word. Not everything supernatural is from God. And not everything emotional is truth.
The heart of the issue is this: Does everyone receive eternal life? Jesus gave us the answer Himself.
“God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him. People who believe in God’s Son are not judged guilty. Those who do not believe have already been judged, because they have not believed in God’s one and only Son.” (John 3:17–18 NCV)
Eternal life is a gift. A free gift. But like any gift, it must be received. Jesus died for all, but not all will choose Him.
“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13 NCV)
God is love. But God is also holy. And He has given every person the ability to choose or reject that love. That’s why faith matters. That’s why surrender matters. That’s why Jesus matters.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.’” (John 14:6 NCV)
So while NDEs may be real, they are not the foundation of truth. Jesus is.
God may use an NDE to stir a person’s heart. He may use a vision or a wake-up call to draw them near. But salvation is still found in one name - Jesus Christ.
And I can say from experience, following Jesus doesn’t just lead to eternal life. It brings life right now. Forgiveness, peace, direction, healing, and a joy that isn’t tied to circumstances.
He didn’t just make my life better. He is better than life.
“Christ died for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8 NCV)
If that’s the kind of love He offers, then why wouldn’t we follow and call Him Lord and Savior?
JESUS - you left heaven, you came with a mission to live and die for others. Your focus was to save us. All we have to do is believe it, accept it, trust it, follow it, and love you. Who dies for others that sin against them? Only you. Thank you a thousand times. It’s in your name that I have eternal life. Amen ♥️
