What are you deeply and fully committed to?
I’ve seen it all.
Some devote most of their life working out motivated by the wrong reasons. You’ve seen others over committed to finding “the one” that will complete them in a relatiohship. Or chasing wealth, material things and all sorts of things that turn into addictions.
It’s really a painful thing to watch, especially when that person is not aware of their problem(s).
However once in a while, someone goes all chips in on the right things of life. Like what? Well, like King Josiah. When he became king. Every kind of evil occurred in the entire country.
They were burning children, temple prostitution, worshipping idols and the the dark and evil list went on and on.
While King Josiah was rebuilding God’s temple, they found the scriptures. After learning them, it changed King Josiah’s life.
“Josiah destroyed the mediums, fortune-tellers, house gods, and idols. He also destroyed all the hated gods seen in the land of Judah and Jerusalem.” (2 Kings 23:24 NCV)
“This was to obey the words of the teachings written in the book Hilkiah the priest had found in the Temple of the Lord.” (2 Kings 23:24 NCV)
“There was no king like Josiah before or after him. He obeyed the Lord with all his heart, soul, and strength, following all the Teachings of Moses.” (2 Kings 23:25 NCV)
King Josiah was truly all chips in for God. I want to be like that …
I’ve lived it both ways. Please trust me that following God, loving Him, having Christ as Lord and Savior and asking The Holy Sprit to help us live life - there’s nothing like it.
But please be warned. Even when committed, we are still tempted to chase the wrong things - and will.
If we make mistakes it’s all good. Just draw a line, write “start” and you can still finish well. There’s nothing like starting over with all chips in.
If we return to God, His word, prayer, worship, serving and forgiving others daily - it’s the most fulfilling thing you will ever do in your life.
LORD, it’s one thing to know about you, it’s an entirely different thing to love you so much, we worship you with our life. To know that Christ saves our soul, and The Holy Spirit helps us live life, it’s what we need each day. So just thank you a thousand times for rescuing and helping me. IJNIP amen ♥️
